Money Magazine: Best Places to Live


Money magazine has recognized Castle Rock in its top places to live numerous times during the past decade. Most recently, in 2019, Castle Rock ranked No. 40.

U.S. News: America's Healthiest Community


In 2019, Douglas County was ranked No. 1 healthiest community in the second-annual U.S. News ranking. For this study, counties were evaluated on 10 categories that shape the core of a community's well-being, from traditional heath indicators like cancer and obesity, to social determinants such as crime rate, housing quality and the share of population living in poverty.

While Douglas County was ranked first, seven Colorado communities were listed among America's top 25 Healthiest Communities.

Residents know Castle Rock is a great place to call home. In this ChamberofCommerce.org study, Castle Rock ranked No. 7 in Colorado. Researchers analyzed data covering the employment, housing, education, heath and quality of life for more than 2,500 communities in the United States.

This study has placed Castle Rock as the sixth best place to live in Colorado. Home values, income, population, unemployment, commute time, crime, education levels, health insurance coverage and poverty rates, via U.S. Census and FBI crime data, were the criteria for ranking 74 Colorado cities.

Wallet Hub: Small City Ranking


Even though Castle Rock is growing, it is still considered small by some analysts, including those at Wallet Hub, who again in 2018 named Castle Rock one of the Best Small Cities in America.

National Council for Home Safety and Security: Safest City in Colorado


In early 2018, Castle Rock was named the eighth-safest city in Colorado by this report, which uses the FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics, as well as population data and other research. 

SafeHome.org: Safe City Ranking


Once again, Castle Rock has made the SafeHome.org list as one of the safest cities in the state. In the 2020 report, Castle Rock ranked No. 6 in Colorado
